The Municipality of Utrecht organized a citizen engagement event about the transformation of Utrecht The New Centre. Smart Sustainable Districts Utrecht was asked to facilitate the discussion about sustainable choices and chances, by using digital and analogue interaction tables (developed with TU Berlin/CHORA).

The Utrecht interaction table

With the help of the Utrecht interaction table, we can design the future city together.  The interaction table is developed to boost citizen engagement in the sustainable transformation of Utrecht The New Centre, using data and sustainable solutions resulting from the Climate-KIC project Smart Sustainable Districts.

Utrecht innovation in the spotlight

Innovative solutions from the Utrecht region in the field of sustainable urban development were presented during the Innovation Expo in Amsterdam on April 14th, 2016. The innovations included Smart Solar Charging, innovative fibre optic technology, cycling and walking experiences in the city and the Utrecht interaction table.

Fibre optic monitoring

Parties in Utrecht join forces to improve the performance of heat and cold storage systems in a worldwide unique way. Via this project we will gain insight in the development of the energy balance in the subsoil around these systems, enabling us to optimise the use of the energy potential in the subsoil. The Circular Economy Labs offer parties involved per chain or per cluster of companies the possibility to meet, to debate specific bottlenecks and to jointly formulate actions in order to realize the Circular Economy.

Biogas ETC

This project aims to test an innovative installation for upgrading the quality of green gas and to develop a strategy for the market introduction of this installation.
